Working with us
In order to become a part of the KittenGuru team, you must follow the rules of our site and meet the set of criteria shown below.
- In order to pass the first stage of selection, the cat must be healthy, have a temperament that meets international quality standards and have all necessary documents that describe its origin. Additionally, you must prove that you have a sufficient amount of knowledge about the feeding, up keeping, socialization and unique characteristics of the breed.
- In the event when the new owner incorrectly upkeeps, offends, beats, or cannot cope with the cat, we reserve the right to take away the animal from the owner. In this case, you are obliged to take the cat back at any age, any time.
- In order to work with us, you should be specialised in breeding a maximum of two breeds.
- When breeding a certain breed of cats, you must have an understanding of its history, temperament, conformation, and characteristics of the breed.
- For full cooperation with KittenGuru, you must have at least 5 years of proven experience with a particular breed of cats, without exception.
- This can take the form of respected cat shows, locally, nationally or internationally, and competitions involving obedience trials, sport and athletics. Show and performance events enable responsible breeders to ensure that their cats display the desired physical and behavioural traits desired for the particular breed. Every litter of show cats has some cats that will never compete in the show ring, often because they have physical traits that do not totally conform to exacting breed standards. However, you make sure that these cats have been raised with as much planning, medical attention and socialization as their show-quality littermates and make wonderful pets.
- The conditions for upkeep must be suitable for selection and have all the necessary components for the cats to grow up healthy and well developed.
- You are constantly improving the quality of the breed, using the pedigree to improve the quality of the exterior and strengthen the temperament of the cats.
- Cats must be examined by a veterinarian. The standard test includes an x-ray of the thigh, an eye examination, the condition of the joints, conduct a test for heart defects, check the condition of cats kidneys, thyroid gland, and other metrics to check animal genetics. This procedure perfectly shows any health problems of the cat and helps to avoid unwanted deviations in the process of breeding, so our team is confident that the health of your cat is on the right level. If the new owner has doubts about the health of the animal, the breeder is obliged to re-conduct the necessary test.
- You are obliged to provide guarantees that the does not have genetic diseases in written form, this guarantee is valid throughout the life of the cat and is the guarantor of the cat’s temperament indicators in accordance with the regulated international standard on the quality of this breed.
- It is necessary to provide photos and pedigrees of the cat’s parents, so we can be sure of its health conditions. We expect you to choose the best breeding partners, not the most convenient ones.
- The cat must not be removed from the litter until the required age, as described in the breed quality standard.
